Not looking so good

9/21-So the neurologist came in and painted a pretty solemn picture. He said that this is probably not a short term issue but rather a long term issue. They have him breathing pretty much on his own but we just don't know what to expect brain function wise.

As a parent it is really hard to watch your child struggle. I have really thought hard about the concept of Agency. As a parent it is so difficult to not want to yank that agency away and make decisions for your children. But God knew better and knew that we had to make our own way - not our parents way - and that is why we were given this precious gift.

Thank you to all who have stopped by and given condolences. It helps to know we are loved. Liz

  2. I haven't been able to take my mind off of you all today. Know that there are constant prayers being said for all of you! There are few people in this world who are as universally loved as Joe (and cute Tanith!). Thank you for the updates and I hope that you can feel the Lord watching over you at this time.

  6. Liz, I am so sorry that this trial is happening to your family. I can truly empathize with what you are experiencing. About five years ago my son Barry was in ICU following brain surgery and was in and out of ICU and had 5 surgeries. I know what it is like to watch one of your babies lying in that bed with all of the monitors, nurses in and out, and having limited visiting time. My prayers are with you and your family as well as with Joe and Tanith. I am so thankful for the strength that a testimony of priesthood and prayers from friends of all faiths help make this time a little easier.
    Love to all of you

  7. I break out into tears every time I think of Joseph and Tanith. It happened to me just now in a meeting I was in. I love you both so much and my heart aches for you.

  8. Thanks for the update on Joseph's progress. We continue to have faith in the Lord's mindfulness of Joe's situation, and we pray for the best...whatever that may look like.
